The 6th annual Park City SportsFest presented by People's United Bank is set for Saturday in downtown Bridgeport from 1-5 pm.
SportsFest is tied in with the 2011 MAAC Men's & Women's Basketball Championships festivities that start Thursday.
This year's SportsFest will be in a large, heated tent that will be stationed at the corner of Frontage Road and Main Street. Music and entertainment will also be part of SportsFest, and food vendors will be on site
ParkCity SportsFest is a free event designed for family fun. The fan festival includes interactive and educational activities from an assortment of sports and fitness related organizations.
Already committed to participate are the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Bridgeport Bluefish, Walter Camp Football Foundation, The First Tee youth golf, Martial Arts Spirit Academy and Simone Lima's zumba program.
As in past SportsFests, sports personalities will be signing free autographs. This year's include boxer Travis Simms and former pro football player Idris Price.
Sponsors of the event in addition to People's United Bank are: Stamford Hospital's Orthopedic Institute, AT&T and the Downtown Special Services District.
